We had a very positive experience with Michelle's to move an upright piano we inherited. I sent in a contact form submission and got a call the next day. We scheduled movers at a time that worked for us. The Rodney gave us a call the day of the move to let us know that he and the movers were on their way, and they were prompt! They arrived right when they called to say they would. They made the pickup quick and easy, and they loaded the piano into the truck to take to the shop. (I imagine they looked at it, but I did not ask.) They let us know when they were headed to drop off the piano at our home, and they were prompt then too. They made the drop off quickly, and the put the piano exactly where we asked. The payment was easy. We paid with a check. We saved by paying for the move and a tuning in a couple of weeks. That has not happened yet, but we are eager for our next experience with Michelle's. They will have our business again in the future.

I recently bought a Yamaha U3 from Michelle's, and it was an excellent experience from top to bottom. Lotof was a knowledgable and helpful guide in the store, and patient as I took my time coming back to compare pianos, and enlisting a friend to help me make my decision. Michelle's has quite a selection, too, so it was fun just browsing and playing all the different instruments.

The movers were incredible - they managed a very difficult installation with creativity and care, and it was clear that they are very good at what they do.

I could have found a cheaper U3 on Craigslist, but it wouldn't have come with included inspection and tuning, or have been delivered by such skilled movers. And the trade-in policy at Michelle's is pretty great - it's nice knowing that should I decide to upgrade in the future, I'll be able to trade my current piano in.

I spent several weeks visiting all of the area piano stores, trying to hunt down the right piano for my space and budget. I ultimately purchased a used 5' 8" Yamaha G2 at Michelle's Piano, which was delivered with expert care and sounds terrific in my home. I visited Lotof at Michelle's Piano several times to hear his selection of pianos and talk with him about my needs. Lotof is a former piano teacher and helped me more as a musician than as a "salesman." I play, and I have two young children who I hope will become pianists as well. Lotof guided me to the right piano and had a lot of very helpful advice for me.

Compared to the other area piano dealers, I found the most options and best sounding pianos at Michelle's. All of the instruments were clean and in excellent condition (not the case everywhere else), and I believe Lotof when he told me that his pianos are all hand-selected. He knew the previous owner of the piano I was interested in and was able to give me a history of how the instrument was cared for in its previous home. I also believe that I saved a good deal of money by purchasing from Michelle's Piano, because the piano I purchased was made in the mid-90s but had been so well cared for and not heavily played over the years. It sounds and plays like a much younger and more expensive piano. I'd recommend Michelle's Piano as your first stop if you're in the market for a new or used piano.

I needed to move a heavy upright piano from Hollywood (Portland) to Hillsboro. The crew from Michelle's Piano handled the move with promptness, care, expertise, and skill. When dealing with several tight places during extraction from the old house, the guys showed skill, patience, and wisdom. No haste, no mistakes, no risk to my fine old piano. I can’t begin to say how much I appreciate the beautiful job that Michelle’s Pianos did. When we moved, they came and picked the piano up and took it to their shop where they totally refurbished it. It was delivered back to our new home, which meant bringing it up 14 steep steps to get into the house. Their moving team is amazing. They are super professional and very nice. They did a beautiful job and now the piano is back where it belongs, looking beautiful and sounding beautiful.. I would give this company and their team six stars if it was possible

The piano moving team at Michelle's Piano did an awesome job moving our mid-1950's heavy upright console piano down a narrow switchback set of stairs. Neonate, Young and Keithon were 'pros' as they carefully guided the specially wrapped and prepared family treasure down the steep descent. They considered and accounted for all the physical limitations of the piano and the space. What a team!!!!.....They clearly identified the need for careful and slow placement as they inched down the stairs. In the end, the wrappings came off, the piano gloried in its new space and we are very happy customers. Thank you to the talented, agile, and strong team and to Michelle's Piano (Breton V) for sending such super qualified talent!!!

We had a fantastic experience with Michelle’s Piano Movers. Our piano was safely transported to the new location. Movers showed up on time and kept us informed about their arrival to the delivery location. They were very respectful of the property and placed the instrument exactly to where we instructed them. I inherited my mom’s piano that she bought new in the 70’s and I needed to move it from Portland to Seattle. Usually they move several pianos at a time to make it cost effective, but the owner made a trip up with just my piano so I could get it in time before I left for a long trip. This place is absolutely amazing and went above and beyond all expectations I had. I highly recommend.

Lotof the salesman was very responsive online and in person. He was able to match me to an appropriate model, even suggesting a cheaper one with equal action, quality and sound. I had just come from Portland Pianos on the other side of town to try their Kawaii Aures NV5S models but after hearing the on board modeling of the Rolands, I couldn't go back!

Ordered a wonderdul new piano from here. They kept me informed about the shipping process and when it arrived at their shop. The movers who delivered it were very careful and mindful moving the piano into my house and treated both the piano and my house with respect, which I appreciate. I have been shopping for a piano for over 4 years. Curtis and Lotof were relaxed throughout the years it took me to decide. I lost track of how many times I walked into the store and browsed. Curtis would chat with my son and I while we played various pianos and made the entire experience enjoyable vs stressful. In my search for a grand piano, I talked to Steinway dealers and restoration shops along the entire West Coast, from San Diego to Seattle. Lotof at Michelle’s Pianos in Portland was the only dealer who discussed my options with me, asked me how much I played, in other words, expressed any interest in helping me make this very important purchase. I am an amateur pianist, but a very dedicated amateur. We discussed my price range, what I was looking for in a piano, and he described two pianos he had that might work for me. We had several phone conversations, and then I flew to Portland for the day and played both instruments. He also played each one for me so that I could hear each from a distance. Lotof, by the way, is an accomplished pianist. He loves his world of music, and his love of the piano is clear once you see his showroom—so many pianos, all different price ranges, displayed beautifully and respectfully.

The piano I chose was then delivered to me in Bend, OR by three professional, courteous movers who called with updates on their arrival time. They handled and placed this magnificent piano with care, checked out the case, and enjoyed my enthusiasm.

I would recommend that anyone include Michelle’s Pianos in their search—such an important purchase.

We were having our carpet replaced and scheduled Michelle’s to take our piano for a couple of weeks. This was a three-man crew who really knew how to move our piano in a safe and efficient way.

The moving of the grand piano went without a hitch - the movers were timely and professional. However, i prepaid for the after-move tuning but have had no luck in having my 2 phone call requests about making an appointment for that returned by a tuner.

I'm extremely happy with my purchase of a Roland HP 702 digital piano and my experiences with Michelle's Pianos staff. My piano had to be ordered from the distributor and it only took about 2-3 weeks that included an ice storm. I think that's reasonable. I interacted with every staff member: owner Lotof, salesman Curtis, and the three delivery men whose names I can't remember and they all were delightful and very helpful, especially Curtis who was always well informed and returned my calls promptly if he was unable to answer the when I called. I'm a real customer and I recommend them.

My wife Mary has played the piano for many years - and we were looking for a baby grand piano for our home. After an online search, we visited Michelle's Piano Company, and met Lotof Shahtout, the owner. The showroom is a piano lover's paradise, filled with an incredible assortment of types and colors and sizes. Lotof is so kind, knowledgeable, patient, low-pressure, and a lover of the magnificent instrument with 88 keys. In our perusing, he led us to a perfect fit for Mary: a K. Kawai baby grand, used, but immaculate, and reasonably priced. We live in Springfield, Oregon, and the delivery came at the tail-end of the ice-storm that swept the Northwest. Curtis from Michelle's kept us informed of the delivery details, and the strong delivery team (Oscar, Damian, and another energetic guy - sorry, I didn't get his name) came when they promised, carefully brought the Kawai into our house, set it up, and then took Mary's old piano to our daughter in the Portland area - all through the ice and snow.
