Schindler’s program will feature the solo version of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue”. He will also perform music by Bach, Chopin Debussy and Janáček

Christopher Schindler performs a variety of classical and contemporary music in solo and chamber music venues. As a soloist with orchestra, he has played concertos of Bartok, Shostakovich, and Gershwin as well as those of Mozart, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff. Schindler has a doctorate in piano performance from the University of Oregon and was on the music faculty of Marylhurst University. He was a finalist in the Villa-Lobos Piano Competition in Rio de Janeiro and performed Liszt’s Dante Sonata in Bellagio, Italy in a solo recital sponsored by the Rockefeller Foundation. Christopher Schindler is the organist of First Congregational Church; he lives in Portland, Oregon, is married to visual artist Christine Zachary and works as a translator of several foreign languages.
