 he Competition Dates are Saturday and Sunday June 6th &amp\; 7th\, 2020.\n
 Participants\, please complete and submit the full Application to Michelle
 ’s Piano at www.michellespiano.com/competititon\nRegistration opens Feb 
 10\, 2020 while the deadline is April 1\, 2020 at 11:59pm ET.\nA non-refu
 ndable application fee of $75 USD must be paid at the time of the applicat
 ion submission to\, “Michelle’s Piano\, 600 SE Stark St. Portland OR 9
 7214”\nParents must fill out a short questionnaire with the application.
 \nA confirmation message will then be sent once the application has been r
 eceived.\nAfterwards\, our competition concierge will contact participants
  with further instructions.\nAll applicants may schedule time to practice 
 on the competition instrument before their audition day. To schedule a reh

 Villella - directly at larry@michellespiano.com\nREPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS &
 amp\; REGULATIONS\nEach participant is required to perform two pieces and 
 will be allotted the following amount of time for the performance of both 
 compositions:\nDivision I: Ages 9 and under (max 8 minutes)\nDivision II: 
 Ages 10-13 (max 10 minutes)\nDivision III: Ages 14-18 (max 15 minutes)\nJu
 dges reserve the right to cut off performances at their discretion.\nThe t
 wo pieces must be contrasting works for solo piano from two different eras
  of Western classical music\, including Classical\, Baroque\, Romantic\, a
 nd Twentieth Century. Music must be performed memorized.\nApplicants must 
 bring hard copies of their music (photocopies or books) with minimal marki
 ngs for the judges.\nContestants will be graded on the following criteria\
 , using a rating scale of 1-5:\nMusicianship: They will be judged on thei
 r ability to make their piece sound sonorous\, showing their command of sh
 adings or phrasing\, and levels of expression\, elevating the music rather
  than playing by rote.\nReplicating the score:  Performances should show 
 strict adherence to what is written by the composer in the score including
  stylistic elements.\nTechnique: Contestants must show they possess the re
 quisite technique in terms of execution of the most challenging passages o
 f a piece\, and should display as near to flawless a performance as possib
 le.\nMemory: Contestants shall perform their selected pieces without refe
 rring to the score.\nPerformance presence: Contestants are expected to di
 splay a professional demeanor\, and at the same time to be themselves and 
 to enjoy their time!\nAge requirements apply to applicant’s age as of Ju
 ne 7\, 2020. Applicants must reside in the United States or Canada.\nJudge
 s will be announced in the application for the competition. If a change is
  made\, this will be announced within the Michelle’s Piano showroom prio
 r to the competition.\nStudents\, teachers\, parents\, and audience member
 s should not approach the judges for any reason before or during the compe
 tition.\nAssigned audition times should be honored except in extreme circu
 mstances.\nCompetitors are responsible for their own expenses to participa
 te in the competition\, including the cost of their travel.\nContestants s
 hould wear professional attire.\nThey must perform live without sheet musi
 c.\nMichelle’s Piano reserve the rights to photograph\, record\, or vide
 o the auditions of contestants and winners and to use these assets for mar
 keting purposes. No extra fee will be paid to the contestants.\nPrizes for
  First Place Winners\n\nDivision I: $400\nDivision II: $600\nDivision III:
  $800\n\nEach winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any an
 d all applicable taxes related to the prize(s) and paying any expenses ass
 ociated with any prizes. Any person winning over $600 in prizes from the M
 ichelle’s will be required to provide a tax ID\, and will receive an IRS
  form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be
