 nLinda Barker has appeared as concerto soloist with the Oregon Symphony\, 
 Vancouver\nSymphony\, West Coast Chamber Orchestra\, Columbia Symphony\, Y
 aquina Chamber\nOrchestra and Portland Youth Philharmonic. Ms. Barker was 
 also the featured soloist in a\nperformance of Shostokovitch’s Piano Con
 certo #2 with the Oregon Ballet Theater with\nchoreography by James Canfie
 ld.\n\nA native of Portland\, Ms. Barker made her concerto debut at the ag
 e of 16 with the\nPortland Youth Philharmonic. She received her Bachelor o
 f Music degree from the\nOberlin Conservatory\, and a master’s degree fr
 om Indiana University where she studied\nwith Menahem Pressler of the worl
 d-renowned Beaux Arts Trio.\n\nWhile residing in St. Louis\, Ms. Barker wa
 s Instructor of Piano at Webster College and\non staff at the St. Louis Co
 nservatory. She played numerous recitals with faculty and\nguest artists o
 f the Conservatory and members of the St. Louis Symphony. She was first\nr
 unner-up in the prestigious St. Louis Symphony Young Artist Competition.\n
 \nIn the northwest\, Ms. Barker has been a faculty member at the Universit
 y of Portland.\nShe is a past president of the Oregon Music Teacher’s As
 sociation\, Portland District. She\nappears frequently as soloist and cham
 ber musician throughout the region\, and is in\ndemand as a master teacher
  and adjudicator of piano competitions.
